Children’s clothing resale event grows with Expo

More than 500 families sold their children’s outgrown clothing, toys and accessories at this year’s Just Between Friends Children’s Clothing Consignment Sale at Expo Center. The three-day sale wrapped up in April with the help of more than 240 volunteers, giving gently-used items a new life for families across the region.  “We feel like our events are a force for good,” said JBF’s Tammy Boren-King. “It’s such a blessing for all the families who don’t have to lay out big money for clothes their little ones will outgrow quickly.” The kicker: JBF donates thousands of unsold items from the event to nonprofit Foster Closet Inc., where they will be given to children in foster homes.

JBF is held twice a year at the Expo Center and each event has grown larger since coming to the venue in 2009, according to Boren-King. The fall “Back to School” consignment sale will run Sept. 20 thru 22. http://www.portland.jbfsale.com/ or www.expocenter.org
