Alicia Crawford Loos Joins Portland Expo Center as Sales Manager

The Portland Expo Center announced today that Alicia Crawford Loos has joined the facility as its new sales manager, responsible for all rentals and bookings for the venue’s meeting rooms, exhibit halls, exterior lots and special event spaces. She is charged with managing new and existing client relationships, developing untapped markets, and meeting annual revenue goals.

“Alicia demonstrated a unique set of skills that are a perfect match for the Portland Expo Center,” said Matthew Rotchford, Portland Expo Center director. “Her familiarity with Expo’s varied business and event types, combined with her commitment to the local community and background in marketing, are sure to make her a success in this position,” he added.

Loos previously served as a part-time marketing and public relations coordinator for the Portland Center for the Performing Arts, another venue managed by Metro through its Metropolitan Exposition Recreation Commission (MERC). She also worked in that same capacity at the Portland Expo Center on a temporary basis in 2011 and 2012.

“One of my goals as director has been to re-establish ties with our North and Northeast Portland neighbors,” said Rotchford. “Connecting with community organizations, new event producers and local businesses will be among Alicia’s priorities and, through her warm and friendly demeanor and expertise in utilizing social media channels; I have every confidence in her ability to do so on behalf of the facility.”

The Portland Expo Center is the west coast’s largest multi-purpose facility that hosted over 100 events and welcomed over 600,000 people into the venue this past year, including Cirque du Soleil’s OVO. The 52-acre campus boasts five spacious exhibit halls totaling over 333,000 square feet and ten varied meeting rooms.  In 2010-2011, the Expo Center generated $35 million in regional spending.
